Defeat of Gringelwald
Dumbledore's Defeat of Grindelwald
Terror had been reigning for almost three solid years. The dark wizard Grindelwald had been setting his minions loose on innocent witches and wizards at random. People, however, thought that he could be dispatched easily, just a deranged man who needed to be put in captivity. Many tried, and failed. For, only one person saw Grindelwald for what he really was. Inside the lunatic and mad mind lurked one of the cleverest consciences of that time period. Only one person was able to understand that part: ALBUS DUMBLEDORE.
It was a dark night, and the sky hung like a velvety canopy, dotted with stars. The night air was cool and calm. Little did the innocent magic folk know that somewhere, high above their heads, the night air was being sliced by a fiery duel.
Albus Dumbledore and Vincent Grindelwald were circling, wands raised high. Grindelwald's face was contorted with fury, while Dumbledore remained serene. Grindelwald sent a curse directly at Dumbledore, who shattered it with a calm, almost lazy flick of his wand. Grindelwald outraged shot a series of firebolts, all of which Dumbledore cleverly dodged.
Finally, eyes flashing, Dumbledore stepped forward, wand raised high. Grindelwald braced himself for a deadly curse, but the one word that Albus Dumbledore whispered was not deadly. Indeed we all say this word sometimes, and without fear. However, this word echoed through the mountains, and across the oceans. There was a dazzling flash of light, and when it cleared, Grindelwald lay defeated, and the whole wizarding world celebrated. Grindelwald is now currently an empty shell, somewhere in Azkaban. The word? Nobody knows, except Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
