Goblin Rebellion of 1612
The Goblin Rebellion of 1612 The Goblin Rebellion of 1612 took place in the Hogsmeade inn, The Three Broomsticks, in the village of Hogsmeade, just north of Hogwarts itself. The rebellion culminated in the angry tirades of three notable goblins: Misters Mortley Gramboff, Crevil Dragondey, and Chickren Gonaff. These goblins were tired of being turned down for jobs on account of their being goblins, after the owners in Hogsmeade ignored their pleas. The only jobs that were open to Goblins were in Diagon Alley's Gringotts, which full to bursting already. So these three angry goblins recruited several of their followers and formed a picket line in front of the Inn.
The owner, Mr. Sheldon Finchey, threatened them with magic and, astonished, soon found himself assuming the form of a pig. The situation was deemed dire, and Ministry of Magic representatives were called in. Finally, after thirteen long hours, during which time many found themselves as pigs for a short time, the reps emerged victorious! The rebellion was over, and a truce had been reached.
This "Goblin/Wizard Pact" which enabled goblins to every right humans have, was to become famous as the pact that "civilized the town." And all because three goblins wanted to be shopkeepers.
