History of Magic
A History of Magic, Grade One
Magic Folk were the first humans to walk the earth. For thousands of years,
magic
was taught among villagers, and they quickly developed. But this method of
teaching stopped when we came across Muggles. Muggles feared magic, and
wizarding types had to practice in private in order to not be caught. Yet
this method was not working well at all; there was no development for over 3
centries.
Helga Hufflepuff, Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazer
Slytherin, each top-students and heads of the Ministry of Magic, wanted to
stop this problem once and for all.
They constructed a school for young witches and wizards known as Hogwarts
School of Witcraft and Wizardry, and is today commonly known as the best
Magic school there is.
Around 500 AD, a powerful Lord wanted to buy all of Diagon Alley. His
name was Lord Gauldroth, and he was the richest Lord of the time. He
offered the store owners 5 Galleons each. Of course, this was alot more
money back then. When they refused it, he offered double. Yet they still
turned it down.Seething with anger he seeled the gateway to Diagon Alley,
and no one knew how to unseel it. Before he could escape, Gauldroth was
caught and thrown in Azkaban. It took nearly a month for the Ministry of
Magic to figure out how to unseel it.
Centuries later, there came another problem. Wisandle Strange, an old
wizard that adored animals, was caught by Muggles raising Dragons among his
tomatoes. The Ministry had to put memory charms on everyone, and the
Convention of Warlocks in 1709 outlawed dragon breeding.
